Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect 5-10 mL random urine sample in a sterile container. Immunoassay drug screen will identify the following drug classes: Cocaine metabolite, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Opiates, Amphetamines, Oxycodone, Cannabinoids and Fentanyl, followed by a broad-spectrum confirmatory screen. Please see below for drug library and interpretive guides. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label or requisition. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Full collection to be handed to the Toxicology bench with a copy of the requisition. Stability: Sample is stable for 4 weeks at 2-8°C and frozen indefinitely. Rejection Criteria: Unlabeled, leaky or samples of non-sufficient quantity. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. |
