Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect 5-10 mL random urine sample in a sterile container. Immunoassay drug screen will identify the following drug classes: Cocaine metabolite, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Opiates, Amphetamines, Oxycodone, Cannabinoids and Fentanyl. Please see below for drug library and interpretive guides. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label or requisition. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Full collection to be handed to the Toxicology bench with a copy of the requisition. Stability: Sample is stable for 4 weeks at 2-8°C and frozen indefinitely. Rejection Criteria: Unlabeled, leaky or samples of non-sufficient quantity. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. |
