Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: 24 hours urine collected in plain container without preservative. Ensure collection bottle is labelled correctly. Keep the collected urine refrigerated if possible and return to lab ASAP. Avoid mineral supplements for 5 days. Write your "start" and "end" date and time of collection on the collection label or requisition. Transportation: Send sample to SMH core lab as soon as possible. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Provide collection date and 24 hours urine volume. Aliquit 15 mL urine from mixed 24 h urine collection, store and send cold. Sample Rejection Criteria: Urine collected with acid / alkaline or leaking specimen will be rejected. |
