Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in a red or gold top tube with or without gel separator. This test is also included in the Encephalitis panel. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: If this test is ordered individually, use this page listing. If it is ordered together with the encephalitis panel, see Encephalitis page. Separate and freeze immediately. Write "Quest (RIA)" on label/requisition. Store and send frozen. Stability: Stable refrigerated for 48hrs and frozen for 73 days. Rejection Criteria: Not frozen, unlabeled or samples of non sufficient quantity. Transportation: Send samples to core laboratory as soon as possible. |
