Specimen Type/Requirements Container Type = 5 Red Top. Minimum Testing Volume = 6-10 mL Serum
Specimen Handling Collection Instructions: Collect sample in red top tube. Store and separate at 37°C. Avoid gold top (SST). Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label or requisition. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Separate samples from cells as soon as possible. Refrigerate and send sample on ice pack Monday to Friday. Genuine STAT samples can be sent directly to ROSH05 Stability: Stable refrigerated 14 days. Rejection Criteria: Frozen samples, unlabeled or samples of non sufficient quantity. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible.
