Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in red top tube. Avoid gold top (SST). Collect blood prior to next dose, preferably in fasting state. Record time of collection and time of last dose. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label or requisition. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Separate samples from cells as soon as possible. Repeated freezing and thawing of samples should be avoided. Rejection Criteria: Gel separator, grossly hemolyzed and icteric samples, Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity samples will be rejected. Stability: Stable for 24hr at room temperature, 1 week refrigerated , and 3 months frozen. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. |
