Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in gold top tube. Ensure both sample and requisition are labelled properly. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label Laboratory Staff Instructions: Let sample clot adequately at room temperature before centrifugation. Separate serum from cells within 2 hours of collection. Store and send frozen. Sample Rejection Criteria:Gross hemolysis, Gross lipemia, plasma, unlabeled or samples of non sufficient quantity. Stability: Stable at room temperature for 2 hours, refrigerated for 24 hours, Frozen for 3 Months. Transportation: Transport at room temperature ASAP. |
