Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Ensure both sample and requisition are labelled properly. Avoid gel-separator tubes and separate as soon as possible. Submit trough specimen (i.e. collected within 1 hour prior to next dose or at least 12 hours after last dose.) Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Special Instructions Separate from cells within 2 hours of collection. Store and send refrigerated Rejection Criteria: Multiple freeze/thaw unacceptable, grossly hemolyzed, or lipemic, Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity Samples will be rejected. Stability: Stable at room temperature for 5 days, refrigerated for 2 weeks and frozen for 6 months. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. |
