Container Type = 1 Red Top (Adult) or 1 Red Microtainer (Pediatric)

Minimum Testing Volume = 1mL Blood

Gold top (SST) is also acceptable specimen type

Specimen Handling

Collection Instructions: Collect 3mL of blood in red top tube for adults or 1mL in red microtainer. Gold top (SST) is also acceptable specimen type. Collect immediately before next dose. Wait until the 3rd dose before collecting samples for therapeutic monitoring. Record time of collection and time of last dose. Write your initials, date and time of sample collection on the collection label or requisition.

Laboratory Staff Instructions: Separate samples from cells as soon as possible. Repeated freezing and thawing of samples should be avoided

Rejection Criteria: Gel separator, plasma, grossly hemolyzed and icteric samples, Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity samples will be rejected.

Stability: Stable for 4 h at room temperature, 1 week at 2-8°C and 1 month frozen.

Transportation: Send to Core Lab as soon as possible
