Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in gold top (SST) tube. Ensure both sample and requisition is properly labelled. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Specimen must be labelled properly. Sperate as soon as possible and send refrigrated Rejection Criteria: Grossly hemolyzed, lipemic, Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity Samples will be rejected. Stability: Store samples at 2-8 C, if not analyzed within 4 hours. Freeze samples at or below -20 C if the sample is not analyzed within 24 hours. Frozen samples can remain frozen for up to one year in a frost free fridge. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. |
