Gold Tube Specimen Type / Requirements

Container Type = 1 Gold Top (SST)

Minimum Testing Volume = 2 ml serum

Tube must fill to at least ½ or greater of its vacuum capacity

Specimen Handling

Collection Instructions: Ensure both sample and requisition are lebeled properly. Notes: This test includes Pemphigus Antibody and Anti-basement Zone (Pemphigoid) Antibodies. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label.

Laboratory Staff Instructions: Serum collected with or without gel separator. Separate from cells within 2 hours of collection

Rejection Criteria: Gross hemolysis, unlabeled or samples with non sufficient quantity

Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible.
