Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in royal blue (K2-EDTA) contaminant-free tube. Avoid any cause of hemolysis during collection. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Separate as soon as possible and transfer plasma to polypropylene vial. Results may be falsely elevated if the specimen is not separated within 30 minutes and/or hemolysis is present. Store and send cold. Rejection Criteria: Gross hemolysis, serum or Unlabeled samples will be rejected. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. |
