Specimen Handling

Collection Instructions: Collect Random Urine in a small sterile orange cap container. Indicate date and time of Collection

Laboratory Staff Instructions: Create an aliquot from the sample and Centrifuge before placing on automation line using the bypass rack. Specimens should be acidified to pH < 3.0 with 6N hydrochloric acid before analysis.

Sample Rejection Criteria: Urine collected with acid/alkaline, unlabeled, leaking specimen

Stability: Stable at room temperature 8 h, refrigerated for 2 days and frozen for 6 months.

Transportation: Send sample to core lab ASAP
