Downtime Documentation

Turnaround Time (TAT)

2 hours from arrival at SMH lab

Reference Value

PlGF ≥ 100 pg/mL

Interpretative comment:

  • PlGF < 12 pg/mL Test positive – highly abnormal and suggestive of patients with severe placental dysfunction and at increased risk of preterm birth.

  • PlGF 12-99 pg/mL Test positive – abnormal and suggestive of patients with placental dysfunction and at increased risk of preterm birth.

  • PlGF ≥100 pg/mL Test negative – normal and suggestive of patients without placental dysfunction and unlikely to progress to birth within 14 days of the test.

sFlt1/PlGF ratio:

    • ≤ 38 Low risk for PET requiring delivery within next 7 days.

    • 39 – 85 Moderate risk (20%) for PET within the next 7 days. Consider clinical picture as to whether to admit the patient.

    • >85 High Risk (56%) for PET within the next 7 days. Admit the patient and consider Celestone if < 35+0 weeks.
