Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect specimen after 8h fast. Specimen must be kept cold at all times following draw. Plasma separator tube is not acceptable. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Spin in a refrigerated centrifuge. Separate plasma from cells and freeze as soon as possible.Store and send frozen. If the specimen thaws it is unsuitable for analysis. Rejection Criteria: Thawed samples, Grossly hemolyzed or lipemic. Stability: Stable frozen for 30 days. Transportation: Transport on ice to core lab as soon as possible. |
