Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in EDTA tube. Protect specimen from light at all times during collection and processing. Sample should be well mixed at time of collection to prevent platelet clumping. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Freeze immediately after separation. Specimen must be labelled inside and outside light-protecting wrap. Stability: Stable at room temperature and frigerated for 8 hours and frozen for 90 days. Transportation: Transport at room temperature within 1 hour of collection. Sample Rejection Criteria:Lipemic, Not protected from light or not frozen, Unlabeled inside/outside light cover sheet, or samples of non sufficient quantity. |
