Container Type = 24 hour container with 25 mL 6N HCL.

Minimum Testing Volume = 5mL urine from mixed urine Collection

Specimen Handling

Collection Instructions: 24 hour urine plain container. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) quickly degrades to oxalate in non acidified urine. Patients should consider refraining from vitamin C supliments for 24 hours prior to urine collection.

Laboratory Staff Instructions An aliquot should be acidified with 6N HCl and stored refrigerated or frozen until analysis

Stability: Stable for 7 days at 2-8°C and frozen for more than 7 days if in acidified.

Rejection Criteria: Leaking container or inappropriate container type..

Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible.
