Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Ensure sample is mixed adequately. Collect a Separate tube for CBC (The result of the CBC must be sent with the sample). Sample must arrive at testing location Monday to Wednesday between 0900-1200 hours. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Stability: Stable for 24hrs at room temperature and 3 days refrigerated. Transportation: Transport at room temperature within 1 hour of collection. Lab Instructions: Order the test as STAT and enter NOBI in comment. Send sample via taxi and notify sample sick kids corelab before sending. Testing is done Monday-Wednesday only and Sick Kids must receive sample before 12pm. Sample Rejection Criteria:Clotted sample, Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity samples will be rejected. |
