Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in gold or red top tube with or without gel separator. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Spin and separate from cells within 2 hours of collection. Store and send frozen. Rejection Criteria: Grossly hemolyzed, lipemic or microbially contaminated specimens, Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity samples will be rejected. Stability: Stable at room temperature for 7 days, refrigerated for 14 days and frozen for 28 days. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. |
