Specimen Type / Requirements Container Type = 1 Gold Top (SST) Minimum Testing Volume = 2 ml serum Tube must fill to at least ½ or greater of its vacuum capacity
Specimen Handling Collection Instructions: Serum collected with or without gel separator. Fasting specimen preferred but not mandatory. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions Spin, sperate and freeze as soon as possible. Store and send frozen. Rejection Criteria: Plasma, grossly hemolyzed, lipemic or microbially contaminated specimens, unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity Samples will be rejected. Stability: Stable refrigerated for 1 day and frozen at -20C or colder for more than 1 day. Thaw samples only once. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible.
