Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: When possible collect sample in a red top tube. Do not use alcohol disinfectants at the site of venipuncture Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Stability:Stable refrigerated at 2-8°C for 1 week and frozen at -200C for 2 weeks. Transportation: Transport at room temperature ASAP. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Centrifuged and never opened prior to analysis provides the best sample integrity. When samples are transferred to an aliquot tube, exposure of the sample to air must be minimal to prevent evaporation of the alcohols. Sample Rejection Criteria: Unlabeled, non sufficient quantity |
