Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in a sterile container and send to core lab. Ensure sample is mixed adequately. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label or requisition. If sample is collected on Friday, specimen must be received in lab no later than 1pm. CSF for Flow Cytometry is only perform Monday to Friday, not on weekends and statutory holidays. Lab Instructions: We are no longer required to register Flow Cytometry samples in the LIS. Samples shall be delivered with paper requisition to flow bench ASAP. Stability: Stable for 24hrs at room temperature and 3 days refrigerated. Transportation: Transport at room temperature within 1 hour of collection. |
