Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect body fluid in red top vacutainer or sterile urine container. Indicate specimen source in order comments or on requisition. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Special Instructions Centrifuge to remove any cellular material. Rejection Criteria grossly hemolyzed, Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity Samples will be rejected. Stability: Fluid LD is stable at room temperature for 8 h, refrigerated for 1 week and frozen at -15 to -20°C for 1 month. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. |
