Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in a red or gold top tube without gel separator. Test iclude Islet cell antibody titer. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label or requisition. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Separate, store and send frozen. Stability: Stable ambient for 48 hours, refrigerated for 14 days and frozen for 6 months. Rejection Criteria: Grossly hemolyzed, lipemic or icteric specimens Not frozen, unlabeled or samples of non sufficient quantity. Transportation: Send samples to core laboratory as soon as possible. |
