Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in a lavender top and send to core lab. Ensure sample is mixed adequately. Sample must arrive Monday to Thursday between 0900-1200 hours. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Test done Monday to Thursday only. Do not draw on Fridays after 13:00 and on weekends. Give sample to float bench or hematology staff. Stability: Stable for 24hrs at room temperature and 3 days refrigerated. Transportation: Transport at room temperature within 1 hour of collection. Sample Rejection Criteria:Clotted sample, Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity samples will be rejected. |
