Imipramine (Tofranil, Desipramine)

Red Tube Specimen Type / Requirements

Container Type = 1 Red Top

Minimum Testing Volume = 3mL Serum

Tubes must fill to at least ½ or greater of its vacuum capacity

Specimen Handling

Collection Instructions: Collect sample red top. Avoid gel-separator tube and separate as soon as possible. Submit trough specimen (i.e. collected within 1 hour prior to next dose or at least 12 hours after last dose.) Assay includes Desipramine. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label.

Laboratory Staff Instructions Seperate from cells as soon as possible.

Rejection Criteria: Unlabeled or samples of non sufficient quantity.

Stability: Stable at room temperature for 5 days, refrigerated for 2 weeks and Frozen for 6 months

Transportation: sample to core lab as soon as possible.
