Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in a lavender top and send to core lab.Specimens should be collected Monday to Thursday only. Samples collected on Friday, weekends and holidays will be cancelled and a new sample must be requested on next business day. Sample should be well mixed at time of collection to prevent platelet clumping. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Stability: 24 -48 hours at room temperature Transportation: Send specimen in room temperature with flow cytometry or hematology requisition to Core lab Sample Rejection Criteria: Plasma, clotted sample, unlabeled or samples of non sufficient quantity. |
