Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in a lavender top and send to core lab. Sample should be well mixed at time of collection to prevent platelet clumping. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Please note that the A1CNR code should ONLY be used on Study specimens or unless when providers request to bypass algorithm. There are NO exemptions to this rule. Use HBA1C on all other orders Stability: Stable 18 Hours at room temperature and 7 days refrigerated at 2-8°C. Transportation: Transport at room temperature within 1 hour of collection. Sample Rejection Criteria: Plasma, clotted sample, unlabeled or samples of non sufficient quantity. |
