Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect fasting specimen. Pre-chill tube at 4°C before drawing the specimen. Draw into the pre-chilled tube, and then chill tube in wet ice for 10 minutes. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Centrifuge in a refrigerated centrifuge or in chilled centrifuge cup. Immediately after centrifugation, remove plasma, place in a plastic transport vial and freeze. Rejection Criteria: Grossly hemolyzed, lipemic, Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity samples will be rejected. Stability: Stable Frozen for 90 days Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. |
