Specimen Type / Requirements Container Type = Lavender Minimum Venous Volume (Lavender) = 1mL whole blood Minimum Testing Volume (Pink Microtainer tube) = 500 µL whole blood.
Specimen Handling Collection Instructions: Collect sample in a lavender top and send to core lab. Sample should be well mixed at time of collection to prevent platelet clumping. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Stability: 24 hours room temperature and 10 days refrigrated. Transportation: Transport at room temperature within 1 hour of collection. Sample Rejection Criteria: Clotted sample, frozen sample, unlabeled or samples of non qufficient quantity (NSQ).
