Specimen Handling

Collection Instructions: Collect sample in a lavender top and send to core lab. Sample should be well mixed at time of collection to prevent platelet clumping. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label.

Stability: 24 hours room temperature 48 hours refrigrated.

Transportation: Transport at room temperature within 1 hour of collection.

Sample Rejection Criteria: Clotted sample, frozen sample, unlabeled or samples of non qufficient quantity (NSQ).
