Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect fasting (12hrs) sample in a red or gold top tube with or without gel separator. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Separate and freeze immediately. Store and send frozen. Stability: Stable frozen for 14 days. Rejection Criteria: Specimens containing heparin are unsuitable for analysis - heparin plasma or patients receiving heparin therapy are unsuitable for analysis. Not frozen, unlabeled or samples of non sufficient quantity. Transportation: Send samples to core laboratory as soon as possible. |
