Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Serum collected with or without gel separator. If the patient is receiving recombinant erythropoietin analysis may not be valid and reference ranges are not applicable Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Special Instructions Separate from cells within 2 hours of collection. Store and send frozen Rejection Criteria: Multiple freeze/thaw unacceptable. Hemolyzed or icteric specimens may falsely elevate results. Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity Samples will be rejected. Stability: Stable for 10 days at room temperature, 18 days refrigerated and 28 Days frozen. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. |
