Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in plasma EDTA. Protect specimen from light. Specimen must be labelled inside and outside light-protecting wrap. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Special Instructions Whole Blood (EDTA) Do not spin. Hematocrit must be provided to allow calculation of result. Specimen may be frozen after measurement of hematocrit Stability: Stable refrigerated for 2 weeks and frozen for 2 months. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. Sample Rejection Criteria: Other anticoagulants and clotted specimens are unacceptable. Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity Samples will be rejected |
