Minimum Testing Volume = 15mL urine from mixed urine Collection

Specimen Handling

Collection Instructions: 24h urine collected in plain container without preservative (preferred). In-house stability studies have shown that urine collected in containers with acid (HCl or acetic acid) are also acceptable. Keep the collected urine refrigerated if possible and return to lab as soon as possible.

Write your "start" and "end" date and time of collection on the collection label or requisition.

Laboratory Staff Instructions: Centrifuge to remove cellular material.

Stability: Stable for 8h at room temperature, refrigerated 1 week, frozen 3 months.

Sample Rejection Criteria: Leaking, unlabeled specimens.
