Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in a lavender (EDTA) top and send to core lab. Ensure sample is mixed adequately. Sample should be well mixed at time of collection to prevent platelet clumping Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Stability: Stable for 4Hrs at room temperature. Transportation: Transport at room temperature within 1 hour of collection. Sample Rejection Criteria: Sample >4Hrs, plasma, clotted sample, unlabeled, non sufficient quantity, or if cold agglutinin sample. |
