Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collection kit can be obtain in outpatient laboratories or in biochemistry. Ensure both samples and requisitions are labeled properly.Laboratory Staff Instructions: Samples received at room temperature (20-25°C) or cooled (2-8°C) should bring to 20-25°C for centrifugation. Stability: Centrifuged saliva sample is stable for 24 hours at 20-25°C, 4 days at 2-8°C and 12 months at -20°C (freeze only once). Transportation: Transport at room temperature ASAP. Place on ice if time of collection to time sample get to lab exceeds 2hrs Sample Rejection Criteria: samples with obvious signs of blood from bleeding gums, unlabeled, Non sufficient Quantity (Not Sufficient Quantity). |
