Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in gold (SST) or Green top (LiHep). Ensure both sample and requisition are properly labelled. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Spin and seperate within 2 hours of collection. Store and send frozen. If the specimen thaws, it is unsuitable for analysis. Rejection Criteria: Unlabeled or samples of non sufficient quantity. Stability: Stable at room temperature for 3 days, refrigerated for 3 days and frozen for 3 Months. Transportation: Send sample to core lab on ice as soon as possible. |
