Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect K2-EDTA blood in contaminant-free tube. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Separate as soon as possible and transfer plasma to polypropylene vial. Concentrations of chromium are higher in erythrocytes than in plasma or serum. The results in plasma or serum may be falsely elevated if not separated within 30 minutes and/or hemolysis is present. Store and send cold. Rejection Criteria: Gel seperator tube, Serum, unlabeled or not sufficient quantity samples. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. |
