Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in gold or red top with or without gel separator. Collect specimen at least 24 hours post-surgery. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Separate from cells within 2 hours of collection. Store and send frozen. Rejection Criteria: Plasma, unlabeled or samples of non sufficient quantity. Stability: Stable for 1 day Refrigerated and frozen: Over 1 day. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. |
