Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in a lavender top and send to core lab. Sample should be well mixed at time of collection to prevent platelet clumping. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Stability: For CBC and DIFF specimens can be run within 24 hours if stored at room temperature. Transportation: Transport at room temperature within 1 hour of collection. Sample Rejection Criteria: Plasma, clotted sample, unlabeled or samples of non sufficient quantity. |
