Specimen Type / Requirements Container Type = 1 TR Green or Gold Top (SST) Minimum Testing Volume = 1mL serum Tube must fill to at least ½ or greater of its vacuum capacity
Specimen Handling Collection Instructions: Ensure both samples and requisition are labeled properly. Fasting sample preferred. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label or requisition. Special Instructions Centrifuge the tube but DO NOT OPEN THE TUBE OR POUR OFF SERUM. Rejection Criteria: Gross hemolysis, unlabeled. Stability: stable for one week unopened. Samples are scanned and stored at 2-8°C for 1 week. Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. It is preferred to send specimen in refrigerated temperature if collecting from an external location.
