Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: 24h urine collected in metal-free container without preservative and kept refrigerated or on ice during collection. Ensure collection bottle is labelled correctly. Keep the collected urine refrigerated if possible and return to lab ASAP. Write your "start" and "end" date and time of collection on the collection label or requisition. Avoid mineral supplements for 5 days. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Aliqout 3 mL from mixed urine collection and Centrifuge. Stability: Stable for 24Hrs at room temperature or refrigerated. Transportation: Transport at room temperature ASAP. Place on ice if time of collection to time sample get to lab exceeds 2hrs. Sample Rejection Criteria: Unlabeled, leaking and/or Non sufficient Quantity (Not Sufficient Quantity) will be rejected. |
