Container Type = 1 Red Top

Minimum Testing Volume = 1mL Blood

Tube must fill to at least ½ or greater of its vacuum capacity

Specimen Handling

Collection Instructions: Collect sample in red top tube. Avoid gel-separator tube. Submit trough specimen (i.e., collected immediately before next dose). Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. ENSURE SPECIMEN IS PROTECTED FROM LIGHT

Laboratory Staff Instructions: Separate samples from cells as soon as possible. Ensure aliquot is protected from light.

Stability: Separated from cells stable at room temperature for 24 hours, refrigerated 14 days, frozen for 14 days.

Rejection Criteria: Unlabeled or samples of non-sufficient quantity.

Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible or ship frozen if transporting from an outside lab. Specimen must be aliquotted into an amber vial to protect from light.
