Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Serum collected with or without gel separator. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label or requisition. Celiac Disease profile testing algorithm: Lab Staff instructions Sample may be stored at room temperature for no longer than 8 hours. If the assay will not be completed within 8 hours, refrigerate the sample at 2-8˚C. If the assay will not be completed within 48 hours, freeze the sample at -20˚C or lower. Frozen specimens must be mixed well after thawing and prior to testing. Rejection Criteria: Gross hemolysis, unlabeled or samples of non sufficient quantity. Stability: Stable for 8h at room temperature, refrigerated 8 days and frozen 1 year (if frozen within 24h) Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible. |
