Minimum Testing Volume = 5ml Urine

Tube must fill to at least ½ or greater of its vacuum capacity

Specimen Handling

Collection Instructions: Collect Sample in a sterile container.The preferred urine specimen especially for macroscopic analysis is a well-mixed first morning “mid-stream”. This is the most concentrated specimen and is most likely to reveal abnormalities. Random urine specimens may be used. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label or requisition.

Special Instructions Transfer aliquots in polypropylene tubes. Centrifuge urine sample before analysis. should be within the normal physiological pH range of 5-8.

Rejection Criteria: Unlabeled, Leaky or Not Sufficient Quantity Samples will be rejected.

Stability: stable for 1 month refrigerated at 2-8°C.

Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible.
