Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in a red or gold top tube for male patients and green top tube to female patients. Indicate patient's age, gender and race. For female patient indicate if pregnant or on oral contraceptives and submit 2 mL Plasma (Heparin) instead of serum Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Separate and freeze immediately. Store and send frozen. Stability: Stable frozen for 14 days. Rejection Criteria: Non frozen, unlabeled or samples of non sufficient quantity. Transportation: Send samples to core laboratory as soon as possible. |
