Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in gold (SST) or Green top (LiHep). Ensure both sample and requisition are properly labelled. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Spin samples within 2 hours of collections. Thaw samples no more than two times. Rejection Criteria: Unlabeled or samples of non sufficient quantity. Stability: Stable at room temperature (15 to 30°C) 48 hours, refrigerated at 2 to 8°C for 7 days and 90 days frozen at -20°C or colder. Transportation: Send sample to core lab on ice as soon as possible. |
