Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in a red or gold top tube with or without gel separator. Please note that EDTA, heparin and citrate plasma is also acceptable Ensure sample is mixed appropriately. Biochemist approval is required prior to ordering this test Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Send all serum and CSF samples to ICL. Separate from cells within 2 hours of collection. Samples can be sent without clinican form. Fax questionnaire to testing site once it becomes available. Store and send frozen. Stability: Stable for 7 days at room temperature, 14 days refrigerated (2°C to 8°C) and 60°C frozen. Rejection Criteria: Unlabeled or samples of non sufficient quantity. Transportation: Send samples together with a completely filled out questionnaire core lab as soon as possible. |
