Specimen Handling

Collection Instructions: Body fluid collected in red top vacutainer or sterile urine container. Indicate source of fluid. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label.

Laboratory Staff Instructions Centrifuge to remove cellular materials within 2 hours of collection

Rejection Criteria: Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity Samples will be rejected.

Stability: Amylase in fluid is stable at room temperature for 1 week, refrigerated for 1 month and frozen -15°C to -20°C for 6 months.

Transportation: Send sample to core lab as soon as possible.
