Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Serum or heparinized plasma collected with or without gel separator. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label. Special Instructions Serum or heparinized plasma free from hemolysis collected with or without gel separator. Separate serum or plasma from cells within 2 hours of collection Rejection Criteria: Gross hemolysis, Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity Samples will be rejected. Stability: Amylase in serum is stable at room temperature for 1 week, refrigerated for 1 month and frozen -15°C to -20°C for 6 months. Transportation: Send sample to core lab via porter or pneumatic tube as soon as possible. |
