Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Collect sample in red top tube. Avoid gold top (SST). Collect at steady state. To monitor therapy, draw trough specimen prior to morning dose or 10-12 h after last drug administration. This assay includes Amitriptyline and Nortriptyline. Note date and time of collection and last dose. Laboratory Staff Instructions: Separate samples from cells as soon as possible. Repeated freezing and thawing of samples should be avoided Rejection Criteria: Gel separator, grossly hemolyzed and icteric samples, Unlabeled or Not Sufficient Quantity samples will be rejected. Stability: Separated from cells stable at room temperature for 5 days, refrigerated 2 weeks, frozen 6 months. Transportation: Send to Core Lab as soon as possible |
